HC Deb 04 April 1921 vol 140 c33W
Sir I. PHILIPPS

asked the Secretary of State for War whether the burial ground of the 2nd battalion, Hampshire Regiment, in Gallipoli has yet been located; whether any steps and, if so, what steps have been taken to preserve the same; and whether any monument has yet been erected on the spot?

Sir L. WORTHINGTON-EVANS

I do not know to what particular cemetery my hon. and gallant Friend refers. There are graves of men of the Hampshire Regiment in various cemeteries on the Gallipoli Peninsula. These cemeteries are under the care of the Imperial War Graves Commission, who will erect headstones therein in due course. Designs for the architectural treatment of the cemeteries are complete and work will shortly be commenced.
