§ Lieut.-Commander KENWORTHYasked the Secretary of State for India to what extent Indian, Burmese, and other labour is being brought into Mesopotamia; what are the conditions of entry for such labour; and are the wives and children of the labourers being admitted?
§ Mr. FISHERMy right hon. Friend regrets that he is unable to give the particulars asked for in the question, but he is making inquiries and will inform the hon. and gallant Member. At present, such Indian labour as has been introduced has been organised in the form of labour corps by the military authorities for temporary purposes. The question of policy involved in the employment of Indian labour remains for consideration when the Arab State has been created.
