HC Deb 29 November 1920 vol 135 c958W
Major BARNES

asked the President of the Board of Trade what action he proposes to take to secure to the customers of the cotton-thread trust some advantage from the great fall in the price of raw cotton, in view of the recent reports of the Committee which investigated the action of this trust?

Sir R. HORNE

As I informed my right hon. Friend the Member for Deptford on the 15th instant, the present price of sewing cotton as compared with the reduced price of cotton is now being investigated by the Standing Committee on Trusts of the Central Committee, and until I receive their report it would be premature to make any statement on the subject.
