HC Deb 26 November 1920 vol 135 cc813-4W
Mr. LINDSAY

asked the Minister of Transport if mail trains run under contract with the Post Office are under his control or that of the Postmaster-General?

Mr. NEAL

Contracts for the conveyance of mails by rail are made between the Post Office and railway companies, and the latter carry out the terms of such contracts. It is not the policy of my right hon. Friend the Minister of Transport to intervene in the detailed arrangements relating to train working, but he is always glad to consider in conjunction with the Post Office any representations regarding the conveyance of mails.
