HC Deb 25 November 1920 vol 135 c680W
Brigadier-General SURTEES

asked the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies, whether the enforcement of local segregation in the case of Indians has been introduced in East Africa; whether he is aware that agitation in India is being organised; and whether it is the case that these proposals meet with the entire approval of the white population in Kenya Colony?

Lieut.-Colonel AMERY

The whole question of segregation in Kenya is engaging the earnest consideration of the Secretary of State. The matter is not one which can conveniently be dealt with at this stage by Question and Answer in the House.
