HC Deb 24 November 1920 vol 135 cc474-5W
Captain BAGLEY

asked the Minister of Labour whether he can state, approximately, in English money at present exchange rates, the rates of wages now prevailing in the coal-mining, iron and steel, textiles, glass, hosiery, or any other industries in the United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, and Japan?

No statistical data are available on which an international comparison of the rates of wages at present prevailing in various industries could legitimately be based. I therefore regret that I am unable to supply my hon. and gallant Friend with the information he desires.
