HC Deb 24 November 1920 vol 135 c476W
Mr. GILBERT

asked the First Commissioner of Works whether his attention has been drawn to the obstruction to traffic of the King Charles statue at Charing Cross; and whether, as it is proposed to still further improve the approaches to the Admiralty Arch, which will increase the cross traffic at this point, he will consult with the police and road authorities as to the removal of this statue to a more suitable position?

Sir A. MOND

My attention has on several occasions been drawn to this matter, but in view of the fact that a removal would involve serious risk of damage to the pedestal and statue I am not prepared to adopt the hon. Member's suggestion.
