HC Deb 23 November 1920 vol 135 c253W
Lieut.-Colonel COURTHOPE

asked the Minister of Transport whether considerable delay has occurred in the settlement of claims for loss on working made by the smaller railway companies; whether he is aware that in some cases this delay is imposing a dangerous strain upon the resources of the companies and is likely, if continued, to lead to reduction or cessation of traffic; and whether he will take steps to secure the prompt settlement of these claims?

Mr. NEAL

The question is not sufficiently explicit to enable me to understand what claims are in question, but if the hon. and gallant Member will give me particulars of the cases which he has in mind, I will cause immediate inquiry to be made, and communicate with him again.
