HC Deb 22 November 1920 vol 135 cc55-6W

asked the Prime Minister whether any action has been taken in regard to Imperial defence on the lines recommended by the deputation of Members of this House representing the Army Committee which attended on him last June; and what was the result of the meeting of the Committee of Imperial Defence, which, it was stated, would consider the matter?

Shortly after I had received the Committee referred to in the question, the Committee of Imperial Defence decided to set up a Standing Committee of the Committee of Imperial Defence, with myself asex officio in the chair, having as members the First Lord of the Admiralty, Secretary of State for War, the Under-Secretary of State for Air, the First Sea Lord, the Chief of Imperial General Staff, the Chief of the Air Staff, to discuss such questions as might from time to time be referred to it by the Committee of Imperial Defence.
