§ Sir H. GREENWOODThe number of policemen murdered between the 1st August, 1920, and the 1st November, 1920, both dates inclusive, is 65, and the number of military 23. Seventeen arrests have been made of persons suspected to have been engaged in attacks in which policemen or soldiers were killed during this period. It is not possible at the moment to state in how many of these cases a charge of murder will be made. Conviction for murder was obtained in one case, and sentence of death was passed and duly executed.
