§ Dr. MACNAMARAOn 15th October, the latest date for which statistics are available, 9,778 men were in receipt of out-of-work donation in Scotland. This figure is 50.1 per cent, of the total number of men and boys, or 54.4 per cent, of the total number of men over the age of 18 on the registers of Employment Exchanges in Scotland at that date.
