asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer how much interest in respect of external indebtedness is included in the Estimates for the current year; and how much is being carried forward or funded?

The debt charge for the current year includes approximately £23,000,000 in respect of interest on debt raised outside the United Kingdom. The interest on the debt due to the American Government, the first payment in respect of which is being postponed
