§ Mr. RAWLINSONasked the Minister of Labour the approximate number of convictions during the present year for obtaining money fraudulenty under the unemployment grants in the Metropolitan area alone?
§ Dr. MACNAMARAIn the Metropolitan Police District, since the 1st January last, there have been 44 convictions for obtaining, or attempting to obtain, money fraudulently under the Out-of-Work Donation scheme. There has been one conviction for a similar offence under the National Insurance (Unemployment) Acts, 1911 to 1919. Also in seven cases workmen have been bound over.
