Mr. ALFRED DAVIES (Clitheroe)asked the Minister of Health whether he is aware that in many rural districts many houses are only tenanted for a few months in the summer, and are tenantless for the remainder of the year; and whether, in view of the shortage of houses, he will seek power, if such power does not already exist, to deal with the matter?
§ Dr. ADDISONI would draw the attention of the hon. Member to Section 12 of the Housing, Town Planning, etc. Act, 1919, under which local authorities already have power to acquire houses which might be made suitable for the working classes.
