§ Lieut.-Colonel AMERYThe question of developing cotton cultivation in Nyasaland is being dealt with in active co-operation with the Empire Cotton Growing Committee. The Agricultural Department is being strengthened and the improvement of transport facilities is receiving consideration. In addition, the Governor is ready to meet applications for land suitable for cotton growing subject to duo regard to the requirements of the natives.
