§ Sir L. WORTHINGTON-EVANSUp to the 31st January, the date of the closing of the fund, the total amount received was £1,247,911 11s. 6d., and up to that date 34,972 cases had been relieved. It is estimated that there were 3,750 cases remaining to be dealt with at the closing of the fund, and the balance then in hand was £151,646 19s. 1d.
