§ Rear-Admiral ADAIRasked the Minister of Pensions whether the widows of officers and men are individually, informed as to the possibility of their being awarded an alternative pension in lieu of the ordinary flat-rate pension; and, if not, whether he will ensure that this possibility is made known at the time a pension to a widow is under consideration?
§ Sir J. CRAIGWith regard to the widows of officers, the answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. In the case of widows of men of non-commissioned rank, the previous leaflets and handbooks advertising alternative pensions have been rendered obsolete by the new Warrant. A revised leaflet is now being printed, and steps will be taken, so far as is practicable, to issue it to all those widows to whom flat-rate pensions are already in payment.
