HC Deb 28 June 1920 vol 131 c63W

Mr. REMER asked the Minister of Food whether he has settled with the American packers all claims outstanding as to bacon requisitioned under recontrol, August, 1919; if not, what is the amount of the claims outstanding against his Department; and whether full allowance has been made for this liability in his Estimates for the current year?

Sir W. MITCHELL-THOMSON: The amount to be paid for the bacon requisitioned by the Ministry of Food during August and September last year, is still the subject of negotiations with the packers concerned. Provision to meet any contingent liability was made when the Estimates for the current year were being framed.
