§ Mr. N. MACLEAN asked the Prime Minister whether there are any restrictions in force which prevent organised bodies of Civil Servants affiliating to the Labour party or Trade Union Congress?
§ The PRIME MINISTER: I am not aware of any formal restrictions of the kind mentioned, but for Civil Servants as a body to join any political party in the State would be obviously unwise and pernicious.
