§ Viscount ELVEDENasked the Minister of Health whether the attention of the Ministry of Health has been called to the state of the water supply in the borough of Southend; and, if so, whether any steps are being taken to increase the supply, which is already insufficient for the resident population before the influx of summer visitors?
§ Dr. ADDISONThe Ministry have conferred with representatives of the Town Council of Southend-on-Sea and the water companies concerned, and arrangements have been made which, it is anticipated, will ensure an increased supply of water for the borough during the summer months.
