§ Mr. JELLETTasked the Chief Secretary for Ireland whether steps can be taken without further delay to amend the Royal Irish Constabulary Pension (Interim) Order, 1920, so as to include all men of over 15 years' service discharged on pension through ill-health since 1st April, 1919; and whether it is a fact that representations made on the subject by the inspector-general of the representative board in May last have not yet been considered?
§ Mr. HENRYA revised pension scale for retirements before 25 years' service through ill-health is at present under consideration as regard police forces in Great Britain. Pending a decision in the case of such forces, it is not practicable, either by Amendment of the Order referred to, or otherwise, to prescribe a new pension scale for such retirements from Irish police forces, but it has been decided that the Irish forces will be treated in a manner not less favourable than British forces. The representations submitted by the representative bodies before the Order referred to was enacted have received full consideration.
