CHILDasked the Secretary of State for India whether the officers of the Indian Telegraph Department sent a petition to the Government of India for an increase in their pay at the beginning of last October; and, in view of the fact that an increase has already been sanctioned in the pay of the Forest and Public Works Departments, will he state when a similar increase wilt be granted to the Telegraph Department?
§ Mr. FISHERAn increase in the pay of the officers of the Indian Telegraph Department, with effect from the 30th August last, was sanctioned in a telegram to the Government of India sent on the 21st January.
