§ Mr. BRIDGEMANEvidence was given before the Sankey Commission that there were 37,316 shareholders in companies engaged in coal mining only, and 94,723 shareholders in companies engaged in coal mining and allied industries. To bring these figures up to date and to extract the further information asked for by my hon. Friend would involve considerable time and expense which I do not think would be justified.
