§ Dr. MACNAMARAThe total number of workpeople in the engineering industry who were claiming out-of-work donation or unemployment benefit at 26th November was 67,558. Arrangements are being made for obtaining in future separate returns of workpeople making claims in respect of short-time and total unemployment respectively, but such figures are not yet available. It is known, however, that there is a considerable amount of short-time working in the engineering industry.
