HC Deb 29 April 1920 vol 128 cc1451-2W
Sir R. GREENE

asked the Postmaster-General whether, in view of the repeated allegations of unfairness in the priority of telephone installations being made, he will give the names of the telephone subscribers in the N. 16 and E. 5 postal divisions who have had the telephone installed during the last six months, the dates on which their applications were received, and the dates on which the telephones were installed?

Mr. ILLINGWORTH

Applications for telephone facilities are dealt with in their chronological order, so far as the available plant permits. As spare wires may exist in one thoroughfare and not in another, the proposed statement would not serve any useful purpose. I am always prepared to make inquiry as regards any apparent preference.
