HC Deb 29 April 1920 vol 128 c1430W
Sir E. NICHOLL

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the capital value of the monopoly rights and material property owned or controlled by the Government in connection with the postal services, including telegraphs, telephones, savings bank, money, and postal order premises; and could that capital value be realised and employed to reduce the National Debt and the net national revenue which would then be required?

Mr. BALDWIN

My right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer is unable to answer the first part of the question, and he is not prepared to adopt the suggestion contained in the second part.
