YOUNGasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Munitions whether he is aware that there is 62W general dissatisfaction among the ratepayers of the Itchen urban district council, and that this arises, in part at least, from the failure of the council to receive any contribution from the Government in lieu of rates in respect of the Government rolling mills, Western Grove, Southampton; whether these mills were erected about four years ago and have been assessed by the Poor Law overseers; whether the customary ex gratia payment is likely in this case to be made; and, if so, what period of time must elapse before payment is remitted?
