§ Mr. CHARLES EDWARDSasked the Minister of Transport if he can give the number of locomotive engines that were badly damaged through being worked by inexperienced men during the railway strike; how long it will take to repair them, and the estimated cost of such repairs; can he give the number which were damaged beyond repair; and, if not, will he secure this information from the different railway companies?
§ Sir E. GEDDESI have no knowledge of the damage to which the hon. Member refers. To take out an estimate on the lines suggested would be highly speculative and would not in my opinion justify the work involved.
