HC Deb 17 November 1919 vol 121 c642W
Mr. REMER

asked the Secretary of State for War how many railway wagons the Government have still in France?

Mr. FORSTER

There are approximately 44,700 railway wagons of all types at present in France under the control of the War Department. Over 19,000 of these are the property of British railway companies, and these are being returned as rapidly as circumstances permit. Arrangements are in hand to dispose of the balance either by sale on the Continent or by return for use in this country.
