HC Deb 11 November 1919 vol 121 cc248-9W
Mr. T. WILSON

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether he is aware that Messrs. Jennings, of Bristol, have not received any payments since the cancellation of their contracts; whether there is any objection to supplying the firm with the address of the examiner concerned in this case; and whether ho will have the matter settled without further delay?

Dr. MACNAMARA

The answer to the first portion of my hon. Friend's question is in the affirmative; but I would remind my hon. Friend that prior to the cancellation advance payments of £11,000 had been made to the firm. In reply to the remainder of the inquiry, a further communication will be made to Messrs. Jennings as soon as he opinion of our legal advisers has been received, and the amount of any sums to which the contractor or sub-contractors may be entitled has been determined.
