§ Sir CHARLES HANSONasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will state the total number of persons engaged by the Ministry of Food, the Ministry of Labour, the Ministry of Shipping, the Coal Controller, and the Board of Agriculture during the last four years and at present employed by the Departments mentioned in outside work throughout London and the provinces, but not including the clerical staffs engaged in the offices of the Ministries in London; the total cost to the State of the salaries paid to such employés and the incidental expenses such us travelling, maintenance, and other allowances; and when it, will be possible to materially reduce the numbers employed and the expenses incurred?
