§ Lieut.-Colonel POWNALLasked the President of the Board of Trade whether, in view of the recent decision to allow 1459W 20,000 bales of American hops to be imported immediately, it would have been possible to give, in the first instance, an opportunity for Australian and New Zealand hops, which have recently been picked and are now ready for shipment, to be imported into this country?
§ Mr. BRIDGEMANI would refer the hon. and gallant Member to the answer which I have given to-day to a question by the hon. Member for Canterbury (Mr. R. M'Neill), to which I would add that in the event of licences for the import of hops being granted, the suggestion conveyed in this question will be considered.
