Scholes, No. 187017, Royal Garrison Artillery, was demobilised on medical grounds; whether he was arrested on the 4th of March as a deserter, locked up all night in Birmingham Police Station, and appeared in the dock at the Birmingham City Police Court on the 5th 1492W and was discharged on production of his demobilisation papers; and whether the War Office will tender an apology for the blunder of their Department and make a small gratuity in acknowledgment of the false imprisonment which this soldier has suffered at their hands?
