HC Deb 04 March 1919 vol 113 c230W
Sir ROBERT NEWMAN

asked the Prime Minister whether he has received a communication from the Exeter and District Chamber of Commerce urging that the additional 50 per cent. which was added to the railway fares, and the additional postage charge on letters, should be reduced to their pre-war rate; and what decision, if any, the Government have arrived at on the matter?

Mr. BONAR LAW

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative, but I see little prospect of an early return to the pre-war rates.
