§ Mr. R. McNEILLasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he is aware that old age pensioners when in receipt of sick benefit from a club of which they are members have a deduction made from their 504W old age pension when their receipts from both sources exceed 13s. 6d. per week; and whether, seeing that such procedure penalises thrift and tends to discourage aged people from belonging to benefit clubs, he will take steps to prevent a deduction from old age pensions being made in the circumstances mentioned?
§ Mr. BALDWINThe receipt of sick benefit from a club would not disentitle a person to the receipt of his old age pension unless it raised his total means above the appropriate limit.
