§ Captain KNIGHTSasked the Postmaster-General if he will state the average charge per telephone message in the United Kingdom and in the United States of America, respectively?
§ Mr. PEASEThe average fee per call for subscribers on the message rate system in the United Kingdom is approximately 8 of a penny. I have no figures with which to make a comparison with the various charges in the United States of America, but the telephone tariffs are generally higher there than in this country.
