HC Deb 04 June 1919 vol 116 cc2054-5W
Lieut.-Colonel ALLEN

asked the Minister of Labour whether, in view of the fact that many industries are still in the same condition as regards shortage of work for the employés concerned as when the Armistice was signed and that the cost of living is no cheaper, he will consider the proposed reduction of the out-of-work donation to 20s. for men and 15s. per week for women, and maintain this benefit as heretofore for a further period of six months?

Sir R. HORNE

I would refer the hon. and gallant Member to the full statement on this subject which I made in the House on 29th April last. I do not think that I can add anything to what I then said.
