§ Dr. MACNAMARAAs already stated, the answer is in the negative. The naval war gratuity is issuable only to men who received naval rates of pay. Should any of the men referred to in the question have served for any period during the War at naval rates of pay, they would be eligible for a gratuity calculated on such period under the usual conditions.
