§ Major HILLSasked the Secretary of State for War whether his attention has been directed to the pensions granted on retirement to officers promoted to brevet 1842W rank for distinguished service in the field; whether such brevet rank under present Regulations confers no increased rate of pension over that of the substantive rank of the officer, so that a major who has gained the rank of full colonel for distinguished service in the field only receives a major's pension on retirement; and whether such officers will be granted pensions at the increased rate?
