HC Deb 27 February 1919 vol 112 c1985W
Mr. JAMES BROWN

asked the Secretary of State for War whether letters are delivered to and collected from prisoners of war in North Russia; and what steps, if any, are taken to deliver parcels to these prisoners of war?

Mr. C. HARMSWORTH

If the hon. Member is referring to British prisoners of war captured in the Archangel and Murmansk districts, letters are forwarded to and sent by these prisoners through the Danish Chargé ďAffaires at Petrograd, the Danish Consul-General at Moscow, and representatives of the Swedish Red Cross Society. Two representatives of the British Red Cross Society are at present in Finland arranging for the regular delivery of parcels to these prisoners through His Majesty's Consul at Helsingfors.
