§ Sir JAMES REMNANTasked the First Commissioner of Works if instructions can now be given to open the library of the Patent Office during pre-war hours?
§ Mr. BRIDGEMANMy right hon. Friend has asked me to answer this question. I regret I am unable to give instructions to this effect at the moment. The staff of the Patent Office is still below its normal strength, and until this is remedied it will not be possible to keep the library of the Patent Office open during pre-war hours. The hours were recently extended on Saturday afternoon, and I am considering what extension of time may be made in the evening.
