HC Deb 21 February 1919 vol 112 c1299W
Commander BELLAIRS

asked the Food Controller whether he is aware of the indignation among large sections of the population at the system of free trade in American and Chinese bacon and pork while British bacon and pork is still regulated by coupons; and whether he will now bring the coupon regulations to an end?

Mr. ROBERTS

No coupons have been required for any bacon since the 28th July, 1918. All bacon, both imported and home-cured, is distributed to the trade under a uniform scheme. No Chinese bacon has been issued by the Ministry of Food for British consumption.
