§ Mr. MADDOCKSasked the Minister of Labour, having regard to the labour unrest now manifest in many parts of the country, what steps have been taken by His Majesty's Government to secure the restoration of pre-war rules, customs, and practices in terms of the Munitions of War Acts and the Treasury agreement of 1915?
§ Mr. WARDLEA joint Committee representing both employers and trade unions was setup last November to advise the Government on matters connected with the question of the restoration of pre-war practices. This Committee has met frequently, both separately in their respective panels of employers and trade union members and jointly as a single Committee. They have also met and conferred with the Minister of Labour on several occasions. As a result it is hoped that they will shortly be in a position to make agreed and comprehensive recommendations to the Government. A notice of introduction of a Bill to deal with this matter is already on the Order Paper.
