§ Mr. MacVEAGHasked the Prime Minister whether he is aware that persons can be interned under the Defence of the Realm Act only under the special circumstances set out in Regulation 14b; whether he can state what case of invasion or what special military emergency arising out of the War justifies the suspension in Ireland at the present time of Section I of the Act; and, if there be no case of invasion and no emergency arising out of the War, what action he proposes to take with regard to persons interned?
§ Mr. BONAR LAWWith regard to the first part of the question the reply is in the affirmative. The latter part of the question was recently considered by the War Cabinet. They decided that at present no action should be taken.
