§ Mr. PERRINGasked the Secretary of State for War when the Connaught Residential Club, Marble Arch, will be released from Army control, thereby providing housing accommodation for nearly 200 families, which is so urgently needed; and whether it is necessary to retain such a 924W large building for the housing of the Women's Auxiliary Army Corps now that peace conditions are restored, and having regard to the promise to secure economy in all Departments?
§ Mr. CHURCHILLThe Connaught Club, Marble Arch, is utilised as a dispersal hostel for members of the Queen Mary's Army Auxiliary Corps returning from France for demobilisation, and will be fully occupied for this purpose up to the end of the month. The handing over of the equipment and stores will commence during the second week in January, and it is anticipated that the date for final evacuation will be the 1st February next.
