HC Deb 04 August 1919 vol 119 cc44-5W
Lieut.-Colonel Lord H. CAVENDISH-BENTINCK

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he will order the immediate release on compassinate grounds of Gunner T. Murdock, No. 338556, B Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery, Frenchman's Point, South Shields, whose wife is bedridden and cannot afford to engage anyone to look after herself and her six children, all under twelve years, and who has good employment awaiting him?

Mr. CHURCHILL

There is no trace of any application on behalf of Gunner Murdoch having been received by the War Office. If, however, this man's case falls within any of the categories prescribed in the instructions governing releases on compassionate grounds, and my Noble Friend will submit a statement certified as required by the instructions, the case will be considered.
