HC Deb 03 April 1919 vol 114 cc1419-20W
Mr. WADDINGTON

asked the Secretary of State for War if he is aware that the pay of Royal Army Medical Corps men has not been increased; and if he will have the 50 per cent. increased pay given forthwith to bring the Royal Army Medical Corps men to the same rate as the Infantry?

Mr. FORSTER

The question would appear to refer to the increase in 1917 of the minimum pay of the private from 1s. to 1s. 6d. a day. This was not an increase of 50 per cent. to the pay of all arms of the Service, but the grant of a minimum rate of 1s. 6d., and as such it has been applied to the Royal Army Medical Corps as to other arms.
