HC Deb 03 April 1919 vol 114 c1419W
Sir HENRY HARRIS

asked the Secretary of State for War whether soldiers who are entitled to be demobilised but are in fact retained for a considerable time in the Army of Occupation receive the same pay and allowances as the men who are not entitled to be demobilised?

Mr. FORSTER

Men entitled to be demobilised who are definitely retained for the machinery of demobilisation, for administrative services or with garrisons abroad, will receive the bonus as from the 1st February. Men not so retained who are merely awaiting demobilisation will receive the bonus from 1st May if not released before that date.
