§ Mr. HOGGEasked the Secretary for Scotland whether, in the month of July last, he received from the keeper of the General Register of Sasines, Edinburgh, nominations affecting the promotion of four officials in that office; if so, when these appointments are to be made; and whether, in view of the delay that has taken place in making the appointments, these will take effect from the date of the vacancy?
§ Mr. MUNROA vacancy occurred in the Sasines Office at the end of July, in regard to which I have been in communication with the keeper. The vacancy will be filled, and the consequential promotions made, in due course; but I can give no undertaking in the sense suggested.
