§ Colonel McCALMONTasked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether, in view of the fact that over 400 civilians of military age are employed under the Canteen Board in Ireland, instructions will be forthwith issued that will ensure that wherever qualified and suitable ex-Service candidates are available, they shall replace those civilians who are unable to give satisfactory reasons for having failed to serve during the War?
§ Mr. MACPHERSONIt is not thought that at the present time any good purpose would be served by the issue of any further instructions. As I informed my hon. and gallant Friend on Tuesday last, ex-Service men who are available and qualified are already given employment in preference to any others.
